Why We Celebrate Eid-Remembering The True Meaning
Muslims will be celerating Eid in honour of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his child, Ishamael .His willingness was brought from a dream he had from Allah who ordered im to sacrifice Ismahel in Allah’s name.ProphetIbrahim knew that this was a real order and followed the command.Just when Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son who was more than willing to partake in the process, Allah removed Ismail and replaced it with a sheep.This is why Muslims in Hajj sacrifice a sheep in the name of God every year.We do it to symbolize our love for God .
Lets Celebrate!
Overthe proceeding days, Muslims will attend the Mosque to pray special Eid prayers, greet one another and then celebrate the day through festive meals with family and friends.Celebrations can last from one -three days.Gifts will also be exchanged for children and teenagers.Best clothes are worn and greetings occur in the form of” Eid Mubarak”.
