With LOST just having ended last week,it seems appropriate to have this month’s Science Fact of the Month tie into the series. We will therefore be covering electromagnetism
The basic premise of electrical magnetism is that electricity is being transported through a wire . By being transported through a wire, a magnetic shield is created in the surrounding area.
Some examples of objects created by electromagnetism include tape drives, speakers, motors, e.tc.
It should be noted that virtually all movement/ actions are due to electromagnetic forces which react on charged protons and electrons.Remember, that this also includes the pushing and pulling effects when an object is being moved.
As LOST viewers are aware, the original Oceanic flight 815 crashed due to a spike of electromagnetism which was not contained as the hatch responsible for doing so was not being monitored by its keeper, Desmond Humes.Take a look at the scene of the crash directly below.

We are Playsteria, a new game and entertainment development company. We’ve recently started developing games and entertainment apps for the iPhone and the iPad, and we’ve just released a new entertainment app about LOST. We have a free app called “Unlockies” where people can merge 9 different character faces to create their own funny characters and then set the image to it’s unlock screen wallpaper. Most people are downloading it because it’s free and can offer some funny to share them with friends or even through Facebook (we’ve added this option too), and we’ve decided to release a new version of this app based on LOST. That is, “Unlockies: LOST Edition” is now in the app store to be downloaded for free for every LOST fan. There you can merge 8 LOST character’s faces: Locke, Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Hugo, Jin, Sun and Sayid and then put them as your wallpaper or simply show it through Facebook to see your own funny creations. Can you image, for example, Locke’s face with Sayid’s hair and Sun’s mouth? Sounds crazy, huh?And you can also check out our webpage to see other games we’ve made: http://www.playsteria.com!

Happy Birthday to Us! Today this weblog turns 2 years old!
It was two years ago today I decided to start this weblog. I am pleased that we have had another successful year of operation in which the site has crossed many milestones. I had no idea when I started this weblog that I would still be doing it two years later . This site means a lot to me and it has truly been a rewarding experience. I would have never imagined that this site would be such a large place which covers a wide range of subject matter for thousands of readers each month. Thank you for supporting us through your visits and participation in the community. Indeed without dedicated readers, a site has no meaning or future.
Over the past year the site has grown immensely. We welcomed over 36 000 readers in our second year- which is three times more than the 12 000 readers who visited us in our first year. We have welcomed dozens of wonderful more regulars to the community and have had an increase in discussion throughout the site. We have affiliated with various other sites including LOST fan site, LOST Media and MSG Network’s LOST Hub Page. Back in March, we launched ourFacebook page which readers can use to follow the blog and related announcements .We enhanced reader – management communication in April by adding Meebo to our sidebar. Readers can now chat with management in real-time about any issues with the site . I would also like to thank Editors Nisreen O’Neill and Zaynab Karimjee for their continuous work in the site over the past year.
Over the past year we provided coverage on the first half of Stargate Universe, provided extensive coverage on LOST as the show progresses in its sixth and final season and provided coverage on the fourth season of Little Mosque on the Prairie . We also had a central focus on the coverage and discussion of the upcoming Stargate Films which have been placed on hold by MGM. We continued to explore the world of Science by continuing our regular Science Fact of the Month feature which provided overview on various scientific issues. During our second year, we provided Muslim readers with up to date information on the dates of both Eid Ul Fitr and Eid Al Adha. Together we celebrated these occasions and remembered their significance. We also continued to post great deal of subject matter pertaining to the environment.
What plans do we have for year #3?Our third year in operation promises to be the most eventful one. After two successful years on WordPress, we are excited to reveal that we will moving to a self hosted site in June. Details regarding the movement will be provided shortly .At our new website we will continue providing coverage of our current subject matter and have great opportunities to expand the community .
Before we leave , we will be having a central focus on LOST with tributes, coverage , a special surprise and discussion as the series comes to a close. At our new site we will launch coverage on a few more Science Fiction series including, Smallville as the show enters in tenth and final season, and resume our coverage of Stargate Universe as the show approaches the end of its inaugural season . Furthermore, we will providing all of the latest developments regarding Little Mosque on the Prairie’s exciting fifth season and stream all episodes from the coming season. Be sure to expect coverage on a few games shows including the popular, Deal or No Deal .We will also be having some special new regular features which will be introduced next month. We also, generally, intend on posting more frequently. We hope that as a much larger self hosted site we can attract more readers and use a wider range of technological applications.
Thank you for being apart of our community and helping make the past year a blast! We look forward to another spectacular year where we work with readers to make our new site the best it can be!
After several weeks of waiting, an official indication regarding Little Mosque on the Prairie’s future has been released. Indeed the series has been renewed for a fifth season, reports TV. Guide.ca.
Although CBC will not provide an official statement regarding the program’s renewal until the end of the month, the production for the upcoming season commenced last week. The news will indeed be a relief for many members of the fandom who were concerned about the program’s continuity after it was revealed that the series’ viewership had drastically decreased to less than 400,000 viewers.
The fifth season will consist of 13 episodes, the first of which will debut in January 2011. Readers should note that the exciting fifth season will feature all of the cast members who were present in the series’ inaugural season , including Carlo Rota[ Yassir Hamoudi], who was absent in the final half of the previous fourth season due to alternate professional commitments as well as Derek McGrath[ Reverend McGee] who was not apart of the cast during the fourth season.Rota will appear in only a handful of episodes throughout the season as he continues to have alternate commitments while McGrath will return for various episodes in the second half of the impending season.
As far as storylines are concerned, the following season will have a central focus on Ammar [ Zaib Shaikh] and Rayaan”s [ Sitara Hewitt] developing relationship since the two confessed their love for each other in the season 4 finale. Executive producer , Marry Darling commented on the challenges brought forth in presenting this storyline indicating that “Once love is professed, the whole chaperoning is taken to a new level. It’s been a real kick for our writers to not only figure out how to keep characters apart but to keep them from touching each other.”
Brandon Firla’[Reverend William Thorne] will also continue to be apart of the main cast during the upcoming season. According to Darling, his character will face challenges as he must now try to build a more respectable image and form positive relationships within the community.”He got his comeuppance at the end of last season and this year he’s dealing with that, trying to rebuild and find his real legs in Mercy. He’s trying to change but has some ingrained habits that make that hard”, says Darling.
Indeed we look forward to viewing the fifth season of Little Mosque on the Prairie . Are you excited about the new season? How do you feel about the direction the series is taking? What specific storylines would you like to see develop? Let us know in the comments section below!
Here are 5 measures which can be easily undertaken to help prevent water pollution
1. Help conserve water by shutting the tap when you do not require it to remain operational. For example, if have wet your brush then you should keep the tap off while you are brushing instead of letting it run the entire time. This will help prevent water from being wasted and reduce your monthly hydro bill.
2.Do not dispose of items such as paint or oils down the drain or toilet.Appropriately place such items in the garbage or recycling cans.
3.Only operate the dishwasher when it is full or you are sure that no further dishes will need to be loaded later on. This way you can do fewer washes which will not only conserve water but also reduce your hydro bill and save time. Also, if you are washing your dishes, ensure that you are not using any soaps which contain the contaminating phosphates.
4. Avoid littering bodies of water such as ponds , lakes, or oceans. Instead you should dispose of uneeded items in the garbage cans or recyclying boxes.
5.Avoid using an excess of fertilizers and pesticides as such substances can contaminate water in the environment as they can easily enter local runoffs during rainfalls.
