Sneak Peek of Little Mosque on the Prairie Christmas Special Released

Indeed ,  an official  description and trailer  of next week’s stand alone Christmas special on Little Mosque on the Prairie has been released on the official  Little Mosque on the Prairie site. Take a look at the description below and then be sure to head over to the official site ,  for the one minute long scene, which features  Reverend McGee[ Derek McGrath] with Ammar. Enjoy and be sure to tune in for the Christmas special on  Monday, December 6 at  9:00pm on CBC!

Amaar recounts his first Christmas in Mercy to Rev. Thorne after a tussle over their shared space reminds Amaar of the growing pains he had at the mosque as a rookie imam. Meanwhile, Yasir upsets Sarah when he stuffs Hamoudi Construction invoices into her Christmas cards as a cost-cutting measure.[ CBC]

Season 5 Premiere Date For Little Mosque on the Prairie Set !

A debut for the fifth season of Little Mosque on the Prairie has finally been made official! The fifth season is to debut on Monday, January 3  at 8:00pm on CBC.

This news follows the announcement of a stand alone holiday  episode of the series, which is to air on December, 6 at 8:00pm on CBC.

The news was released today on the Official Little Mosque on the Prairie Facebook page  where the producers indicated that “It’s official! After a brand new holiday special airs in December, the fifth season of Little Mosque officially begins on Monday, January 3rd at 8 PM!”

 

  

As we previously reported, the fifth season will  contain 13 episodes and focus greatly on Ammar and Rayan’s relationship, after the two professed their love for each other in the season 4 finale, and  in Reverend Thorne who will be gaining his comeuppance    this season. Actors Carlo Rota and Reverend McGee will return in their characters of Yassir Hammoudi and Reverend McGee, respectively,  as recurring roles.

Robert Carlyle Wins Gemini Awards

Indeed the cast of  Stargate Universe  have much to be proud of after its recent accomplishment at the 25  annual Gemini  Awards on November 13 2010. The series’ lead actor, Robert Carlyle was bestowed with the award for the Best  Performance By An Actor in A Continuing Leading Dramatic Role.  Carlyle received this award for his performance of his lead role on Stargate Universe as Dr. Nicholas Rush on series inaugural season episode, Human.

The Gemini awards, of-course, are the annual  television broadcasting awards  for the Canadian film  and television industry

Below, is a video of Carlyle receiving  his award at the ceremony.

In addition to  being bestowed with this award, the series received eight other nominations back in August .  A list of these nominations, has been placed directly below.

Watch the SGU Cast on Canada AM

Indeed   the cast and crew  of  Stargate Universe appeared on  CTV’S Canada  AM   this past Friday.  During the appearance, they discussed the latest gemini nominations  which the series received, their experience in playing their roles and the success of  Stargate Universe, the growing Sci Fi genre and also fielded  some  online fan questions. Among the  few questions that were fielded,my question to actor David Blue[ Eli Wallace] , was answered by the actor himself. Be sure to watch it all in the complete   interview below and  stay tuned on the blog , throughout the next couple of days as we will have reports and a autographed  cast photo  from both  the Canada AM event  and  the SGU – InnerSpace event.

Meet The Whole Cast of SGU on Canada AM

We are passing this message on behalf of our friends at CTV Network. The Canadian network will be having the entire SGU cast  appear  live on the Canada AM show on Friday, November 12 2010  for a meet and greet with fans . The cast will appear on the show from 8:30am -9:00am.

 If you  live in the GTA and would like to attend with a friend, please e-mail  senior producer  of Canada AM , Tina Daenzer at amsoundstage@ctv.ca 

  Participants will  also  be provided with the chance to  send in their questions for the cast  to answer and it would be greatly appreciated that  those attending dress up as their favorite SGU character.
