Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the show’s six season run. While I do agree that the cast changes contributed in reduced ratings, I believe that these changes helped bring interesting twists to the storylines of the show. This brought forth interesting dynamics and reformed energy in the later years[i.e Reverend Thorne's character initially brought tension between the Muslim and Anglican community]The show also continued to do well internationally.

While I appreciated the new energy in the final seasons,I do resonate with your perspective on the first season being a favourite!

Interesting clip. Is it true that all writing for LMOTP was done by the creator? I was always under the impression that scripts were written by a “team” of writers after the first series. When I think of LMOTP the first thought that comes to my mind is, opportunity lost. What started out as a very funny and unique show steadily went down hill due to changes in the plot and cast. This of course was reflected in the ratings. Of course this is just my opinion, but as the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Still, I will miss the show. It seems that it was on the verge of getting back on track the last series. I wish nothing but success in the future for the cast and crew. Thanks…
