Take a look at Canada’s Space Network’s trailer for SGU 2.5, which will make its debut on the network on Tuesday, March 8 at 10:00pm eastern standard time, with Deliverance. The brief 30 second trailer, features some of the previous scenes from the current second season, before giving fans a peak at some of the excitement to come in the final 10 episodes of the series.
Among this excitement, is the long-awaited confrontation between Sergeant Greer and Chloe as well as yet another dispute between Dr. Rush and Colonel Young after another opportunity to return home arises.

Indeed, the day following SyFy’s announcement of SGU’s return date in the USA, Canada’s Space Network, has announced that SGU 2.5, will debut on Tuesday, March 8 2011 at 10:00pm eastern standard time.
This new time slot marks the change from Friday nights to Tuesday nights.
Though SGU scored relatively poor ratings in the USA, which resulted in the series ‘ cancellation, the show has generated record breaking ratings for Space. A reason for the change in the timeslot is unknown.

The final 10 episodes pick up from December’s jarring cliffhanger, where the Destiny encountered two warring races and an ally thought dead returned. In the Season 2.5 premiere, “Deliverance,” the Destiny is now locked in a battle with a Drone Command Ship and surprised by the arrival of the aliens that abducted Rush and Chloe.

Indeed, Stargate Universe will return with its final episodes , on Monday, March 7 at 10:00pm eastern standard time on SyFy. The news was first issued via SyFy’s program scheduling .
The move to Monday nights, brings the series out of the typically , highly competitive Tuesday nights, where SGU scored considerably poor ratings through the first half of its current second season, which of course resulted in the series’ cancellation. The show will now be airing immediately after the recent hit series, Being Human, which airs at 9:00pm on Mondays and premiered in January, with the accumulation of almost 2 million viewers.
The second half of SGU will of course continue on from the cliff-hanger left in Resurgence and the first episode is entitled, Deliverance.

News regarding the debut date for the second half of Stargate Universe on Space[Canada] and Sky One [ UK] has yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, producer, Joseph Mallozzi continues to keep fans apprised, on his blog, as to the developments which producer, Brad Wright ha been making with his negotiations with MGM, to have the series continue in some form. It has, however been made clear by Mallozzi that a third season is not a possibility.
“Still no definite word on the Stargate front,” Mallozzi said. “Following a flurry of promising developments, things have gone unbearably quiet. Not a bad sign just … no sign. There’s an anticipation that good news could break any day now — but the longer the wait, the greater the challenge when the time comes. To those holding out hope that this could mean a third season pick-up — alas, this isn’t one of the scenarios in play.
“Nevertheless, as I said in a previous entry, if and when we finally do get the green light, Brad has some wonderful surprises in store for fans of SGU (as well as fans of the Stargate franchise in general)
