SGU/ SGA Crossover Finalized

Tuesday, July 20, 2010 @ 09:07 PM
Abbas Karimjee[ Administrator/ Owner]

UPDATE -It was revealed in the San Diego Comic Con  that  the two Atlantis guest stars   scheduled to appear in  the fifteenth episode of Stargate Universe’s second season, Seizure  are David Hewlett and Robert Picardo who will reprise in their  roles as Dr. Rodney McKay and   Richard Woolsey respectively. A further overview will be posted shortly.

Producer, Joseph Mallozzi revealed on his blog that   two  cast members from Stargate Atlantis will  guest star in their  respective roles  in  a crossover for the 15th episode of  Stargate Universe’s second season entitled,  Seizure. There is no word yet on exactly which  characters will be reappearing.

As a result of these appearances,  Mallozzi  indicated  that  slight changes will be made to the script of  he impending   Stargate Atlantis film,  Stargate Extinction. ““There was a reluctance to move ahead with an SGA crossover, particularly on my part,” Mallozzi said, “because the feeling was it would step on the timing of the SGA movie, Stargate: Extinction, the events of which directly [followed] the Atlantis series finale, ‘Enemy At the Gate .’But given the delay on the movie front and the idea premise pitched out by Remi Aubuchon and Brad Wright, it was decided to go ahead with the crossover.  Not a big deal, but it will require some changes to the Stargate: Extinction timeline which, in turn, will beg a host of questions, some of which will be answered in episode #15, some of which won’t … at least not right away.” To see a list of these hosts of questions, head  over to Mallozzi’s blog.

Mallozzi has since repeatedly asserted  that the  involvement of Atlantis characters will not affect the  core conflict  of the film. He specifically indicated that “The changes made to the script will have to do with the timing of events (essentially the set-up) and won’t influence the heart of the story”. Essentially, the appearances will help provide  certain details  regarding  the aftermath of the series finale of Stargate Atlantis,  Enemy At the Gate which will in turn require  the script to be altered in a way so that such details are not repeatedly conveyed and that the storyline remains  true   to the timeline. Having the Stargate Extinction  storyline occur after the  appearances on Stargate Universe would  therefore not contradict with any of the circumstances or situations surrounding the characters’  appearances in  the series  and the situation on Atlantis as  the  film would take place afterwards.

We   look forward to seeing  the Atlantis cast members reprise in their roles  in Stargate Universe and we   strongly hope that  we will eventually  have the opportunity to revisit the characters of  Atlantis in greater  detail through Stargate Extinction.

Science Fact of the Month- May 2010

Monday, May 31, 2010 @ 09:05 PM
Abbas Karimjee[ Administrator/ Owner]

With LOST just having ended   last week,it  seems appropriate to have  this month’s  Science Fact of the Month tie into the series. We will therefore be covering electromagnetism

The basic premise of  electrical magnetism  is that  electricity  is  being transported through  a wire . By being transported through  a wire, a magnetic shield is created in the surrounding area.

Some examples of objects created by  electromagnetism include  tape drives, speakers, motors,

It should be noted  that virtually all movement/ actions are  due to electromagnetic forces which  react on charged protons and electrons.Remember,  that this also includes the pushing and pulling effects  when an object is being moved.

As LOST viewers are aware, the original  Oceanic flight 815 crashed due to a spike of electromagnetism  which was not contained as the hatch responsible for doing so was not  being monitored by its  keeper, Desmond Humes.Take a look at the scene of the crash directly below.

Happy Birthday to Us! Today this weblog turns 2 years old!

It was two years ago today I decided to start this weblog. I am pleased that we have had another successful year of operation in which the site has crossed many milestones. I  had no idea when I started  this weblog that I would still be doing it  two years later . This  site  means a lot to  me and it has truly been a rewarding  experience. I would have never imagined that this site would be such  a  large place which covers a wide  range of subject matter  for thousands of readers each month.  Thank you for supporting   us through your visits and participation in the community.  Indeed without  dedicated readers, a site has no  meaning or future.

Over the past year the site has grown immensely.  We welcomed  over 36 000  readers  in our second year- which is three times more than the 12 000 readers who visited us in our first year. We have  welcomed  dozens of wonderful more regulars to the community and have  had an increase in discussion throughout the site. We have affiliated with various  other sites including LOST fan site, LOST Media and  MSG Network’s LOST  Hub Page. Back in March, we  launched ourFacebook page   which  readers can use to follow the blog and related announcements .We enhanced reader – management communication   in April  by adding Meebo to our sidebar. Readers can now chat with management in real-time about any issues with the site . I would also like to thank Editors Nisreen O’Neill and Zaynab Karimjee for their continuous work in the site over the past year.

Over the past year we provided  coverage on the first half of Stargate Universe,  provided extensive coverage on LOST  as the show progresses in  its  sixth and final season  and provided coverage  on the fourth season of  Little Mosque on the Prairie . We also  had a central focus on the  coverage  and discussion of the   upcoming Stargate Films  which have been placed on hold by MGM.  We continued to explore the world of Science by continuing our regular Science Fact of the Month feature which provided overview on various scientific  issues. During our second year, we provided Muslim readers with up to date information on the dates  of both Eid Ul Fitr  and Eid Al Adha. Together we  celebrated these occasions and remembered their significance. We  also continued to  post  great deal of subject matter  pertaining to the  environment.

What plans do we have for year #3?Our  third year in operation promises to be the most   eventful  one. After two successful years on WordPress, we are  excited to reveal that  we will moving to a self hosted site  in June. Details regarding the movement will be provided shortly .At our new website we will continue providing  coverage of our current subject matter and have great opportunities  to  expand the community .

Before we leave  , we will   be having a central focus on LOST   with tributes,  coverage , a special surprise and  discussion as the series comes to a close.  At our new  site we  will  launch coverage on a few more Science Fiction series including, Smallville as the show enters in  tenth  and final season,   and    resume our  coverage of Stargate Universe as the show  approaches  the end of its inaugural season . Furthermore, we  will   providing all of the latest developments regarding Little Mosque on the Prairie’s  exciting fifth season  and stream all episodes from the coming season. Be sure to expect coverage on a few games shows including the popular, Deal or No Deal .We will also  be having some special new regular features which will be introduced next  month. We also, generally, intend on posting more frequently. We  hope that  as a much larger self hosted  site we can attract more readers and use a wider range of technological applications.

Thank you for being apart of our community and helping make the past year a blast! We look  forward to   another   spectacular year where we work  with readers to make our new site the best it can be!
